Botober 17: Signposts
Almost forgot about this, so here's a quickie. Today's prompts were:
- Things: An oddly specific book about spiders
- Concepts: A river that runs like this- --->
- Advanced: Rock, usually under a large sheet of something
- Terrible: An oyster
Signposts
To begin, you must the river that runs like an arrow. Straight? No, not straight. Have you watched an arrow in flight? It bends back and forth as it flies. And so this river will do.
At the mouth of the river will be a bed of oysters. One of them will contain a pearl which contains a key. How to find which one? Two ways. First, the shape of the pearl will make it clear what's inside, at least for a few more years. Second, the oyster has been intentionally hidden so it is not likely to be harvested by accident. This should be sufficient.
There will be a lighthouse nearby. The key will fit a lock inside the lighthouse. Behind that lock you will find a book. The book will be a guide to the spider that live inside a particular house.
You must then go to that house, and find a particular web. The book will make it clear which web you are looking for, if you read it properly. You will need to lift up the nearby sheet and descend into the rock beneath it. There you will find what you seek.
No, I did not put it there. I did not put any of these things in place. I merely saw the signposts as they were being laid. I do not know what it is that you seek, or who laid the signposts. I merely watch.
