One thing about the Botober prompts is that they are often fantasy and science-fiction themed...but it can be inconvenient when we have both, as in these promps, which contains both "machine" and "wizard.  But then, if I wasn't trying to challenge myself I wouldn't be trying to use all four prompts all at once anyway:
  • Things: A staircase of cherry blossoms
  • Concepts: Coffee I Am A Machine That Is Built To Drink Coffee
  • Advanced: The snide gaze of an unkillable wizard
  • Terrible: A pile of black pepper

Singleminded

It came to awareness as it felt the Words snap into place.

"What are you?" a voice asked.

"Coffee I Am A Machine That Is Built To Drink Coffee" it said in an inflectionless voice, reciting the Words.  Slowly, it began to seek out the Coffee.  It did not see the Coffee.  It smelled the Coffee.  It turned towards the source of the Coffee scent and began to walk stiffly.  Its form was ponderous and heavy.

It circled around but could not find the source of the Coffee smell.  It came from above, but there was no way to go above.  Its gaze crossed the snide gaze of its master, its creator, its owner.  It walked over to him and seized him around the neck.

"What are you doing?" the wizard cried.  "You can't kill me!  I made you!"

"You Can Make Me Go Up To Where The Coffee Is," it rumbled.

"Yes, yes, fine, but put me down!" the wizard said.  It opened its hand and the wizard stumbled backwards.  The wizard rubbed his neck petulantly.  "But this is cheating."

It watched impassively but with unwavering attention as the wizard reached into his pockets and grabbed two handfuls.  He brought one to his nose and sniffed, then sneezed mightily and scattered the rose petals in the other hand.  A flurry of red swirled around in a blinding wave.  It watched them as their initially chaotic motion gradually became more orderly.  Finally they came to rest in a series of steps to the upper level.  It carefully put its heavy foot onto one of them, and it sank under its weight and then rose back up.  With great care it ascended the rose petal staircase until it reached the stone floor of the upper level.  There it found the urn full of coffee, lifted it to its lips, and fulfilled its purpose.
