Peasant's Progress
Jan. 8th, 2007 10:54 pmThe closest I made to a New Year's resolution this year was to try to post to my journal. Which I have been neglecting, despite not being dead. And you can already see how well that ambition has been going.
My intention is to keep my posts short, and hopefully try to compose them at other times, at least jotting down possible topics, which are legion. We'll see how that goes.
I was reading that this was the year that blogging was going to peak. Everyone who was going to try it will have tried it, and most of those will probably abandon it when they realize that they didn't have as much to say as they thought. I do feel like I have enough to say, but it's the act of actually writing it up and posting it that's the sticking point.
Also the fact that I feel like I should be keeping up with my Friends page. Which is well-nigh impossible with the amount of spare time that I have, and the other things I tend to feel like spending it on. (These days: TV, last.fm, & The Sims 2.) So I'm going to try to detach them. I'm going to try filtering my friends page and see how that goes. Forget about reading it daily, anyway.
At the moment I'm really just killing time while I burn some more backup DVD-RWs. My MP3 collection has just crested 20,000 tracks, which fills me with a sort of glee. That's 86 GB. At 4.7 GB/DVD, that's just about 19 discs just for my music collection(to date). And not only do I also have other files that I may feel inclined to have backup copies of, I also keep getting more of those music files. I have a 90 download/month account on eMusic, and I've bought a dozen or so CDs(mostly on sale)in the last month as well.
My current DVD has just finished burning, and I don't want to dry up too much, so I'll stop here. Burning backup discs is probably about the right opportunity for me to do this, so when I can convince myself to do that instead of playing Sims 2, I'll try to post again.
Until then, toodle-pip, y'all.
