Simon brought home a heavy load from school today. That was because the books we'd ordered through Scholastic Book Club had finally come in. We'd ordered the first ten books in the Lemony Snicket series, in a paperback edition, for a pretty damn good deal(whose precise price escapes me right now). I've read the first four from the library(and seen the movie of the first three), so I was pretty happy. We'd missed the deal the first time it came out, mostly because the Book Club booklets always seemed to come home on the day they were supposed to be returned to the school by...but we got the booklet on time once, and sent it back on time, and hey presto! ten depressing tales of the Baudelaire Orphans. Wonder when I'll get around to reading them...
