Make It Fun, Make It Fast

In case anyone has noticed that I've been listening to a lot of Garbage lately, it's because I may actually be going to see them next weekend. I don't get out to many concerts--about one every other year or so--but a friend of
1istener has an extra ticket, so I leapt at the chance. Haven't actually got it in my hands yet, but hopefully I'll get it. If not, then...well, I won't have to go out! So it's win-win. Either I get to go out and presumably have fun seeing a band I like perform live, or I get to stay home!
I haven't heard any of Garbage's most recent album, but I've got their first three. I'm not as conversant with them as I might like, so I made up a Winamp playlist of all three and shuffled it, so we'll see if I can bombard myself with Garbage over the next week or so until I can sing along with all their songs. Except the new album, of course. (I also don't seem to have "The World Is Not Enough" on MP3, though that's one of my favourite of their songs...)
Nicole's philosophy on concerts(she goes to even fewer than me)is interesting--she doesn't figure there's any point going unless she is likely to know all or most of the songs. So rather than going to the concert and listening to the new songs to see if it's worth getting the album, she'd rather get the album and listen to it before the concert, like studying up. I've been known to do that in the past, but I don't think I'll bother this time. I just want to get to the stage where I'll actually be able to tell which songs are new and which aren't...
