There was a 9, then there was no 10, and no 11, so this is 12. As in, I had to skip a couple of days, which I will try to make up later, but in the meantime I'm going to number based on the day, and use the prompts based on the number. It's all quite logical if you don't think about it too hard. In that vein, I decided to lean slightly in the direction of the abstract and surreal in this story (with a touch of Body Horror). So those #12 prompts for Botober are:
- Things: Dragonilicious
- Concepts: A fractal
- Advanced: Lizard hiding in brain
- Terrible: A pile of sand
Dragonilicious
"Sir?"
He looked up from the pile of sand he was making. Not just a mound; it looked random, but he was detailing it with care nonetheless.
"Would you like to try our new product?"
He took the proffered sample, sniffed at it, then nibbled it, and then devoured it.
"Can you describe it in one word?"
He grinned so widely the corners of his mouth started to tear, then shouted, "It's DRAGONILICIOUS!"
The flesh of his face continued to split, until the whole top of his head tore off, revealing a lizard hiding in his brain. The vibrations of the shout shivered the pile of sand, causing it to settle into a precise fractal pattern which continued to vibrate.
The lizard leapt out of the man's rent brainpan, into the vibrating fractal, and disappeared.
