The Late-Night Trauma Stand
Nov. 9th, 2004 10:31 pmWe've managed to miss the last two episodes of "Desperate Housewives", which I find extremely annoying. One episode I can deal with, but two is hard to pick up from. And next week looks like it'll be a rerun. The worst part is, we did set it up to tape last Sunday night, but TV Guide lied to us, and we ended up with Law & Order:CI instead. I don't bother with any of those shows, so dead loss there. I don't remember what happened the weekend before, but we might have just forgotten about it. (Weekend shows are hard for us. It's one reason we gave up on "Andromeda". And since it's on before the kid's bedtime, but is a bit too PG for us, we have to tape it anyway, which is a pain...)
I did find some very interesting summaries at Television Without Pity, which is a site I may have to check out in the future. But it's still no substitute for watching the actual bloody show.
I must confess that I'm losing any sympathy for Gabrielle, and I'm almost rooting for her marriage to come to an end because of her inability to focus past her affair. I am totally rooting for Bree, though. Lynette's kid problems just make me wince, as does Susan's klutziness and her self-sabotaging with Mike. The Mary Alice plotline, and Mike's secret life(is it related?)if, of course, the real meat, but that's going to unfold oh-so-slowly, of course.
It's not Twin Peaks--there's no Agent Cooper in sight--but I'm still enjoying it. When I get to watch it. Grumble.
I know I've missed a bunch of episodes of "Scrubs", but with a comedy it's generally easier to pick up because it's more episodic. "DH" has its share of comedy(didn't they call that a "dramedy" at some point? Ick), but it's still got its ongoing plotlines.
