Where Is The Line
Nov. 3rd, 2005 10:32 pmOkay, my first day of NaNoWriMo was mildly promising--I wrote in "The Soul-Stealers" for an hour, produced 826 words, or almost half a day's quota if I was trying to reach 50,000, which I'm not. But last night all I wrote was my
rustylantern post, and tonight I only wrote about three paragraphs in "Soul-Stealers" and then ground to a halt.
And the next few days aren't going to be good. Tomorrow night I go to my brother's poetry reading--he's visiting from Toronto, and will be around until at least the 8th. Saturday night is a Cult of Pain meeting, my mom and stepdad arrive in town this weekend for a few days, and all of cetera. Plus, right now I have over 200 pages left in Olympos, it's due back at the library on Saturday, and there's other requests in for it so I can't renew it. It did start to pick up a couple of hundred pages ago, but I haven't had time to devote to it. Maybe I'll just go do that now.
And, of course, on Tuesday A Feast For Crows hits the stores. I intend to read this one before Nicole, which means that once I finish Olympos I can't start anything long. Maybe a Dick Francis or something.
I'm also reading Reading The Vampire Slayer: An Unofficial Critical Companion To Buffy And Angel, picked up from the library on a whim. I'm not much for criticism--I used to buy "Wrapped In Plastic", the Twin Peaks magazine, until I got too bogged down in badly-written critical articles--but this book is not too bad. It's been distracting me from Olympos, though, so it is being neglected right now.
Okay, dryer's done, time to bring laundry upstairs.
