Jan. 20th, 2006 09:57 pmMy main web site, at http://www.telusplanet.net/public/alfvaen/, hadn't been updated since, I believe, 2002, apart from a slightly more frequent update of my album list and frequently used song titles. But somehow I managed the gumption last night, and I've now updated it all.
It's not much, on the surface. I don't do graphics or visual design, so it's just text on black background, with the same pitiful graphics on the main page as I had ten years ago. But I finally changed the email address on my pages--I decided to just used my gmail address, rather than trying to obfuscate my home email. The old email was so spam-ridden that I barely check it anymore, anyway. I also updated the odd other thing.
Most significant, perhaps, is the fact that I found a dozen or so of my old talk.bizarre posts that I'd Googled for a while ago and saved copies of, and have now HTMLized them and put them up with my other t.b/four-word stories. One of these days maybe I'll post some of my Cult of Pain writing exercises, and maybe even copies of the stories I've gotten published.
It's also vaguely possible that one day I may do "Top & Bottom Books of the Year" lists for years after 2001. That's a lot of work, though.
By the way, do any of the talk.bizarre folks out there remember a story I wrote called "Mercury Poisoning"? I can't find it on Google Groups, nor do I have a copy saved anywhere else, but I distinctly remember writing it(based on a dream). I may have tried to get someone else to post it for me, because I may have had only email but no news at that point. Any help appreciated kthx.
