Random snippets of information(I'm beginning to feel reluctant to call them "memes"), questions due to [livejournal.com profile] anavolena, [livejournal.com profile] omarius, and [livejournal.com profile] rimrunner.

1. WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING? -- I just finished the ponderous rollercoaster ride which was Steven Erikson's Memories of Ice, and haven't yet selected a new fiction read. I am reading Mark Kurlansky's Salt: A World History, and have just started Wil Wheaton's Just A Geek, both from the library.
2. WHAT TIME IS IT NOW? --
3. WHAT'S ON YOUR MOUSE PAD? -- An old amazon.com mousepad with a colourful, pointillistic picture of Groucho Marx and his "inside of a dog, it's too dark to read" quote.
4. BOARD GAME? -- Clue. I don't get to play it often enough, because two-player Clue isn't worth it, and the kids aren't old enough to play yet.
5. BABIES? -- One five-year-old and one two-year-old, both boys.
6. FAVORITE SOUND? -- One of my many favourite songs? Or, perhaps, the "Buffy" theme music, because it portends good things(however little I like the song itself).
7. WORST FEELING IN THE WORLD? -- Remembering an excruciatingly embarrassing moment from my past
8. FIRST THING YOU THINK OF IN THE MORNING? -- Do I have to get up with the boys this morning?
9. HOW MANY RINGS BEFORE YOU ANSWER THE PHONE? -- At work, four or five, because I hate answering the phone and there are up to three other people who could answer it first. At home, less than two, because that was when our old answering machine picked up.
10. FUTURE CHILD'S NAME? -- Future? If we have another one, I'm a big proponent of "Natasha" for a girl. (The possibility of a third boy is slightly daunting, so I haven't spent much time thinking about that one.)
11. FAVORITE COLOR? -- Purple.
12. WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT IN YOUR LIFE? -- Organizing information.
13. FAVORITE FOOD? -- Right now, I'm big into quesadillas.
14. IF YOU COULD PLAY AN INSTRUMENT, WHAT WOULD IT BE? -- Drums, perhaps rhythm guitar, or keyboards. (I used to play piano long ago...)
15. DO YOU LIKE TO DRIVE FAST? -- No, I obey the speed limits rigorously.
16. SLEEP WITH A STUFFED ANIMAL? -- No. Even when I did have stuffed toys, in the mists of memories of single-digit age, they weren't animals. One Oscar the Grouch, and a "Sparky the Snowball" Winter Games mascot.
17. STORMS - COOL OR SCARY? -- Depends on whether I have to drive in them or not.
18. WHAT TYPE WAS YOUR FIRST CAR? -- The first car I actually bought was a '94 Mercury Topaz, bought from my dad, but Nicole and I had been driving an '84 Topaz(which she bought while we were still dating), so I'm not sure which one counts.
19. THE ONE PERSON FROM YOUR PAST YOU WISH YOU COULD GO BACK AND TALK TO? -- My uncle Tim, who died of cancer a few years ago.
21. WHAT'S IN THE TRUNK OF YOUR CAR? -- In the back of the Jeep, there's sandbags, a spare tire, and possibly an old Globe & Mail, all from when my Mom owned it. In the Dodge Spirit(which Nicole drives during the week), there's washer fluid, both bug-wash and antifreeze varieties, that stuff you pour onto ice to make it melt, and some spare motor oil for emergencies.
22. DO YOU EAT THE STEMS OF BROCCOLI? -- It's the best part! Well, the floretty part is best for dipping...
23. IF YOU COULD HAVE ANY JOB YOU WANTED WHAT WOULD IT BE? -- Still a computer programmer, probably, but in a cooler field, like simulation software or something.
24. PERSON LEAST LIKELY TO RESPOND TO THIS? -- [livejournal.com profile] clintono.
25. EVER BEEN IN LOVE? -- Yes.
26. IS THE GLASS HALF EMPTY OR HALF FULL? -- Never really thought about it much.
27. FAVORITE MOVIE? -- Tough one. "Groundhog Day", perhaps.
28. DO YOU TYPE WITH YOUR FINGERS ON THE RIGHT KEYS? -- Yes. I learned to type at about age nine, because my handwriting was(and is)atrocious.
29. WHAT'S UNDER YOUR BED? -- Dust, fabric softener sheets, perhaps a book we got tired of reading to the kids EVERY SINGLE NIGHT months ago.
30. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE NUMBER? -- Hmmm. The golden ratio.
31. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SPORT TO WATCH? -- Curling, probably.
32. SAY AT LEAST ONE NICE THING ABOUT THE PERSON WHO SENT THIS TO YOU? -- Ummm...lives in Florida and probably didn't vote for Bush?
33. IF YOU COULD BUILD A HOUSE ANYWHERE WHERE WOULD IT BE? -- Edmonton would probably do me fine for now. Boring, huh?
34. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE ARTICLE OF CLOTHING? -- Do I have to have a favourite? It's just clothing. I need more T-shirts with cool/clever things on them.
35. BEACH, MOUNTAINS, OR CITY? -- City. Beaches are full of sand, and there's like washed-up jellyfish and stuff. Mountains involve climbing and cold and risk of avalanches and stuff. Cities, at least, you can stay out of the elements.
36. TECHNOLOGY OR ART? -- Technology. Of course, when I think "art" I tend to think of "painting"--I'm quite fond of music and writing, but both of them mostly in areas affected by technology.
37. COMEDY OR HORROR? -- Comedy.
38. FAVORITE PHYSICAL FEATURE OF THE OPPOSITE SEX? -- Breasts. Does that make me shallow?
39. This question intentionally, or unintentionally, omitted from the quiz, and I'm too lazy to try to trace it back to its origins to find out when it disappeared.
40. THE LAST CD YOU BOUGHT? -- "The Bridge", by Shaye, and "Life For Rent", by Dido.
41. FAVORITE PLACE TO BE MASSAGED? -- Scalp.
42. WHAT'S MOST IMPORTANT, STRONG IN MIND OR STRONG IN BODY? -- Strong in mind.
43. WHAT TIME DO YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING? -- During the week, I set my alarm for 7:00. On the weekend I get to sleep in until 9:00 or 9:30 one morning, and the other have to get up with the kids, sometime from 7:00-8:30.
44. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE KITCHEN ITEM? -- Dishwasher. I've been without one, so I know.
45. WHAT MAKES YOU REALLY ANGRY? -- Unrealibility.
46. WHICH DO YOU PREFER, SPORTS CAR OR SUV? -- SUV, I guess. I don't like to drive fast, and I already own a Jeep.
47. DO YOU BELIEVE IN AFTERLIFE? -- I'd like to, but unless it's something Transhumanistic like Spider Robinson's "Deathkiller" series, I can't really bring myself to.
48. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SEASON? -- Either spring or fall, because they avoid the temperature extremes that cause discomfort in the solsticial seasons. I'm tempted to answer "indoors". Fall does bring the beginning of TV season, and spring its end, of course.
49. IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE SUPER POWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE? -- Oh, I know this one, I was just thinking of it the other day... Mind control, probably.
50. DO YOU HAVE A TATTOO, WHAT IS IT? -- No tattoos, and no urge to get one.
51. CAN YOU JUGGLE? -- Two balls, and only if I pass them underhand.
52. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE DAY? -- Saturday, because that's usually when I get to sleep in.

55. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEAL? -- Brunch.
56. IF YOU COULD TAKE A VACATION ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD WHERE WOULD IT BE? -- Australia.

58. OF ALL THE AMERICANS WHO EVER LIVED, WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO TALK TO FOR AN HOUR? Isaac Asimov.

FAVORITE SOUND? -- ... the "Buffy" theme music, because it portends good things(however little I like the song itself).

Hahaha, that is so true.

I wonder why that last question is American-centric.

CLUE!

My 8 year old received Simpsons Clue for Christmas last year and we've only gotten to play 2 half games. I agree that two person Clue just doesn't cut it.
