My journal is called "The Den of Ubiquity" because that was the title of my first home page, ca. eight years ago. Where that came from...well, it's lost in the mists of time. At the time I wasn't even sure whether "ubiquity" was a real word, or an illicit back-formation of "ubiquitous"(like the time I tried to play "audace" in Scrabble). (For those who don't know, "ubiquity" would be the state of being everywhere at once.)
My subtitle is "Being a little bit more everywhere" because this added yet another site where I was posting things on the Web. Though my Blogspot blog is pretty much defunct, and I don't plan to resuscitate it anytime soon. (See also a song from when I spent hours a day on Usenet.)
My friends page is called "Ubiquity is a lot closer than you think." because, well, it's as close to ubiquity as I'm going to get, being able to gather writings of people from widely disparate place into one virtual location.
My username is Alfvaen because I've also used that for years. I've written about the origin of the name already.
My default userpic is something that I picked out years ago from a free clip art site because I was trying to find a picture to use for Ackanomic, and I can't draw worth a damn. I looked at a lot of pictures, but that one finally sold me because(in the larger version, which you might not be able to see to well as clipped as it is)I liked the image of the lonely, vaguely mechanical stone head floating over the countryside. It's very Surrealist. I wish I'd kept track of who drew it, though.
